If you have a special colour theme for your Special Day, please let me know as I can alter the colour of the hearts, and I have a selection of fonts for you to choose from.

I can also add trimmings of your choice – buttons, ribbons, a ‘Wedding Ring’, or leave the cards plain.

I  have added a few new blogs and websites to my blogroll recently, and just thought I would properly introduce you to one of them – Pikaland.

This blog is all about illustration and art, but it features so much more than just pen and pencil illustrations.  They find and champion examples of any and every type of illustration you can think of – and more.  Previously I have seen work large and small, from illustrators who use paper folding, watercolours, wood carving, computer programmes or textiles to create their work.

There will probably be styles that you love and styles that you don’t, but if you are ever struggling for visual inspiration, try a look here…

I was very pleased to have one of my greetings cards featured on the Inspired Celebration blog recently, as they also believe in the ethos of handmade, and supporting independent UK designer makers.
Whether you are organising an event yourself and are looking for ‘that’ special touch to add to your celebration, or if you are attending a Wedding or party as a guest and are looking for a unique gift – Inspired Celebrations will often have beautiful suggestions for you.

So if you like the idea of including handmade designs within your celebration but don’t know where to start, try taking a look at their blog.

Thank you to professional photographer Reg Moore who I met at a Wedding Fayre last weekend, who gave me a little photography ‘tip’ for taking item photos, and I think these ones are definitely an improvement from my previous images.  But there is always room for improvement, so I will keep on practicing…

I enjoyed my time yesterday at Gainsborough Old Hall‘s first Wedding Fayre event.  I had never been before, but it is quite an unusual building, as you will see in some of these photos from the day:

I’m sure I looked funny in the morning arriving with boxes of plants and sweetie jars to a Wedding Fayre, but it was all for a reason = new designs for quirky favour labels, name places, and table numbers.  I also designed some new table number plant signs, with the background patterns from my final degree project inspired by afternoon tea – can you see the tea cups in the pattern?

My old favourite ‘button table numbers’ were displayed with some new menu designs, and co-ordinating plates hand painted by me.

The day seemed to go so quickly, but I did have a quick wander and found these quirky internal features next to the tea shop (any excuse).

The venue people were friendly as were the other people displaying, including the photographers either side of my display.   There was Paul from local studio Red Pepper Studios based in Gainsborough, and Reg Moore whose work is featured in magazines including Lincolnshire Pride.
